A few photos of a stroll down the River yesterday afternoon – what a treasure!.
The Mudcrabs began work on their new Wave Rock revegetation site today.
This is a join venture between the Mudcrabs, Marrickville Council & Marrickville Golf Course, to increase the native vegetation in the Golf Course, particularly near the River and to increase biodiversity & natural habitat.
A big thank you to Marrickville Council, who is providing the funding for this project.

The Hon Linda Burney,Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Member for Canterbury in the NSW Parliament, responding to the CRVA’s “Sewage In The Cooks River” petition, recently asked the State Government to explain the lack of action on this issue.
Unfortunately the State Govt. choose to not answer the question and gave us a whole lot of weasel words about how much they value the Cooks River.

Mudcrabs & CRVA are joining the Bushcare Major Day Out event next Sunday – 8th September. The Foord Ave site, next to the Cooks River in Hurlstone Park is an inspiring testament to what can be achieved when a determined environmental group combines with nature and the local Council. The Foord Ave site has been transformed from grass & weed to a beautiful native vegetation site in less than 4 years. Congratulations to the Mudcrabs and in particular Liz Millen & Doug Benson
