CRVA 2010 COMMUNITY FORUM
The 2010 CRVA Community Forum will be held on Saturday 8th May 2010 at Canterbury Girls High School (Muli-Purpose Centre), Church St. Canterbury from 1.00pm to 4.00pm One focus of the Community Forum will be the many exciting projects currently underway on the Cooks River as part of the Urban Water Initiative. Another focus will be the continuing polluting of our River by sewage and storm water.
Associate Professor Mark Taylor (Macquarie Uni. Dept Environmental Sciences) will present the key note address: "Why Rehabilitate an Urban River."
Federal, State and local politicians will attend to hear the community's concerns about the health of the Cooks River and to share their vision for a healthy, rehabilitated River.
Local community environmental groups, Sydney Metro Catchment Authority, Sydney Water, local councils and other groups & organisations currently active on the Cooks River will be displaying their work.
The Cooks River is starting to come back to life but there is still a great deal to be done.

The 2008 Cooks River Forum The Cooks River Forum 2008 was held on Saturday, 1st November. Twenty local community and environmental groups joined residents and government representatives to discuss projects having a positive impact on the river. Sharing their own work and hearing about the work of others inspired the presenters and gave the members of the public a greater understanding of the challenges and opportunities for the River in the future. Groups and projects represented at the Forum included:
